The Venue

Rugby is played across multiple pitches comprising over 100 matches. Great care is taken over the scheduling of matches to ensure all matches kick off on time. Refereeing support is organised by the IRFU Munster Association of Referees.

Kinsale, on the Southern coast of Ireland, is about 30 minutes by road from Cork City and 20 minutes from Cork’s brand new International Airport. Cork’s International Ferry Terminal at Ringaskiddy is also about a 30 minute journey away.

The Tent

Aha I hear you saying…. it all looks good but doesn’t it rain a lot in Ireland?

Well yes, but we do have a good record of warm sunshine over the Mayday weekend. If you are still not convinced, our ‘off-pitch’ facilities are all under cover (just in case). The centre of the action is the Main Marquee. This houses the central bar facility, and has music from midday until around 8pm. Party away to your heart’s content. The Food hall is the next biggest tent, which provides a place to sit and eat your player’s lunch (all in with the entry fee) or anything you may have purchased from our many quality food vendors on site – there is something for everyone’s taste or diet.

The Kinsale RFC Clubhouse houses the President’s Bar, where you can enjoy our sponsor’s finest from real glass, watch all the Pitch 1 action from the covered veranda, and rub shoulders with our visiting rugby stars. There is also a Satellite Bar down by Pitch 1, offering a quieter venue than the Main Marquee to enjoy a pint and a chat with your mates. Our toilet and shower facilities are housed in top quality cabins, provided by our sponsor Hayes Caravan services. And, if the Heineken Cup Semis are played over the weekend, as has been the case for the past 2 years, then we will have BIG screens in all the covered areas from which you may keep up with the action.

So, from the time you arrive to play your match, watch some quality 7’s rugby, or simply soak up the atmosphere, your every need is catered for regardless of the weather.

Wristbands

All entrants to the event, including players, must wear an entry wristband. To obtain your band, you must provide name, address and contact details when you arrive. All tickets must be bought online and wristbands can be collected on entrance to the event. Gates are open at the event from 3pm to 5.30pm on Friday, 10.00am to 5.30pm on Saturday & Sunday.  Venue closes at 9pm.
