Aha I hear you saying.... it all looks good but doesn’t it rain a lot in Ireland?
Well yes, but we do have a good record of warm sunshine over the Mayday weekend. If you are still not convinced, our ‘off-pitch’ facilities are all under cover (just in case). The centre of the action is the Main Marquee. This houses the central bar facility, and has music from midday until around 8pm. Party away to your heart’s content. The Food hall is the next biggest tent, which provides a place to sit and eat your player’s lunch (all in with the entry fee) or anything you may have purchased from our many quality food vendors on site – there is something for everyone’s taste or diet.
The Kinsale RFC Clubhouse houses the President’s Bar, where you can enjoy our sponsor’s finest from real glass, watch all the Pitch 1 action from the covered veranda, and rub shoulders with our visiting rugby stars. There is also a Satellite Bar down by Pitch 1, offering a quieter venue than the Main Marquee to enjoy a pint and a chat with your mates. Our toilet and shower facilities are housed in top quality cabins, provided by our sponsor Hayes Caravan services. And, if the Heineken Cup Semis are played over the weekend, as has been the case for the past 2 years, then we will have BIG screens in all the covered areas from which you may keep up with the action.
So, from the time you arrive to play your match, watch some quality 7’s rugby, or simply soak up the atmosphere, your every need is catered for regardless of the weather.
The Corona Virus Pandemic has resulted in the mass cancellation of many events worldwide. We had hoped to host the Heineken Kinsale 7s as scheduled on the May Bank holiday weekend this year. However, after careful consideration, consulting with stakeholders and speaking to medical professionals. We are unfortunately announcing the cancellation of the Heineken Kinsale 7s for 2020.
